Final Shots

A good strong heart to this build is needed, and for that I’m using an Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition CPU. The backbone, as you might have guessed, is the Asus Rampage II Gene - a Micro ATX Republic of Gamers motherboard. Finally the cooling comes from a modified Asus Triton 81 cooler with LGA1366 bracket, and the whole thing is powered with a Corsair HX1000 PSU.

Conclusion and thanks

Now its just the simple matter of installing all the hardware and turning the machine on (then hoping for the best). This build has been a lot of fun to do and I’m very happy with the result. As always when making a commissioned mod there’s the issue of time but despite the timeframe, I got this case just as I wanted it. What’s more, every stage of the build went without issues, which for me is very rare since I usually screw something up along the way.

I’ll leave you now with some shots of this monster in action and I hope you enjoyed this write-up. As usual I’ll be back with more modding in the future. A huge thanks goes out to Asus for the hardware sponsorship and AC Ryan for the aluminium and acrylic.
